At 8,000 feet in the La Sal Mountains, about twenty miles southeast of downtown Moab, Whispering Oaks Ranch trades the desert heat for aspen groves and alpine air. The fifty-acre property structures micro-weddings around its lodging: book one of three small cabins (sleeping six to ten) or the larger Cedar Bend Lodge Cabin (sleeping twelve to twenty-four overnight) and the ranch includes its micro-wedding event space at no additional charge. That space centers on an 1,800-square-foot covered pavilion, multiple decks, and a 55,000-square-foot lawn — infrastructure built for the ranch's larger weddings of up to 200 guests, available to small groups as well. The wedding season runs late May through mid-October, when the high-elevation road access is reliable. Couples often choose the ranch for the contrast it offers a Moab trip: red-rock portraits in Arches or Canyonlands one day, a forested mountain ceremony the next.
